Different thermal management systems have different component types, different weights, different system costs, and different control methods, which result in different system performances. There are five main categories:

  1. Direct cooling system

The direct cooling system is a method of directly cooling the target component through a coolant (such as a refrigerant).

Principle: The coolant directly contacts the heat source such as the power battery, absorbs heat through heat exchange and takes it away, thereby achieving rapid cooling.

Advantages:

High heat exchange efficiency.

Simple structure, direct and significant cooling effect.

Disadvantages:

Refrigerant leakage may have a negative impact on the environment.

The system has high sealing requirements and high manufacturing costs.

Application scenarios: Suitable for high-performance power battery packs with fast charging and discharging.

Application of modified PA materials in direct cooling systems

(1) Coolant pipes

Advantages:

The modified PA material has high strength and impact resistance to cope with pressure fluctuations caused by coolant circulation.

Excellent chemical corrosion resistance prevents aging or leakage caused by long-term coolant contact.

(2) Battery cooling plate housing

Advantages:

The high dimensional stability and thermal conductivity of modified PA help ensure cooling efficiency.

Light weight can reduce the total weight of the vehicle and improve endurance.

(3) Connectors and joints

Advantages:

The toughness and wear resistance of modified PA are suitable for repeated assembly and disassembly operations.

High temperature resistance ensures that the joints can still maintain sealing under thermal load.

(4) Pump body and valve

Advantages:

The modified PA has sufficient strength and fatigue resistance to withstand fluid impact for a long time.
