Thermal management of fuel vehicles
The thermal management system of fuel vehicles mainly includes the air conditioning refrigeration system and the cabin heating system with the engine as the heat source. Its main components include the mechanical air conditioning compressor, expansion valve, evaporator, condenser, and engine heating system.
Why is the thermal management cost of fuel vehicles low?
The operating temperature of the engine of a fuel vehicle is high (the maximum temperature can reach 2000℃), so the heat generated by the engine can be used in the heating system. The air conditioning system only needs to consider the cooling function, and no additional heating device is required. When the engine temperature is low, the coolant circulates in a small loop to reduce heat dissipation, so that the water temperature is quickly raised to the optimal temperature (90℃), improving emission performance. When the temperature is high, the coolant circulates in a large loop through the radiator and fan to increase the heat dissipation efficiency.
In addition, since the battery capacity of fuel vehicles is usually small (the battery capacity of HEV models is large, and electric compressors can be used), electronic compressors cannot be matched, and mechanical compressors can only be selected as a means of air conditioning cooling. Although mechanical compressors increase fuel consumption compared to electric compressors, they also save the cost of pre-installation. The cost of the thermal management system of a fuel vehicle is only around 2,000 to 3,000 yuan.
