Polyamide 1012 (PA 10120, Nylon 1012) is created through the polymerization of hexamethylene diamine and dodecanedioic acid. Nylon 1012 appears as a milky white to light yellow translucent solid and merges the advantageous properties of both nylon 6 and nylon 12. Specifically, nylon 6 contributes a higher melting point and enhanced short-term temperature resistance, whereas nylon 12 ensures low water absorption, outstanding UV and chemical resistance, effective hydrolysis and zinc chloride resistance, and superior flexibility. Nylon 1012 is compatible with most standard processing methods. Common applications for nylon 610 include fuel lines, air lines, hoses and tubes, quick connectors, automotive cooling lines, and various injection-molded parts.
