Polyamide 1012, also known as PA 10120 or Nylon 1012, is synthesized through the polymerization process of hexamethylene diamine and dodecanedioic acid. This material possesses the enviable qualities of both nylon 6 and nylon 12. Nylon 6 excels in its high melting point and superior resistance to elevated temperatures over short durations. Conversely, nylon 12 boasts low water absorption, robust UV and chemical resistance, excellent resilience to hydrolysis and zinc chloride, and unparalleled flexibility. Nylon 1012 can be processed efficiently using various standard techniques. Common uses of nylon 1012 include the manufacturing of fuel lines, pneumatic tubing, hoses, quick-connect fittings, automotive cooling systems, and a diverse range of injection-molded components.
